Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Gets Final Launch Trailer

June 6, 2024 by Carley Garcia

The enhanced game is due out on June 14.

Ahead of the release of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance on June 14, Atlus has uploaded a final launch trailer for the enhanced title, giving fans one last look at the game before it hits PC and console. Packed with incredible music, glimpses at combat, and pieces of the main story, the trailer shows off how the title will look on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Check out the launch trailer for Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance below. If you don’t want anything spoiled, you may want to skip this one:

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance will feature two distinct story paths: Canon of Creation and Canon of Vengeance. The former is the same story as the original, while the latter is unique to the new title and will diverge drastically mid-way through the campaign.

“The battle system, demon fusion, and field exploration have also evolved in depth with the addition of new elements. We are excited to deliver a full-fledged RPG that can be enjoyed by those who have already played SMTV, as well as those who are playing this series for the first time,” a statement released last month reads.

“When a grisly murder scene in modern-day Tokyo blocks the protagonist’s walk home, an unplanned detour leaves him buried and unconscious,” reads the game’s description. “He finds himself in a wasteland ravaged by apocalypse now called Da’at. Before bloodthirsty demons can claim his life, a savior emerges, and they unite to become a mighty being, neither human nor demon: a Nahobino.”

Prior to the enhanced version’s release, the original Shin Megami Tensei 5 will be delisted from the Nintendo eShop. Players who already purchased the game will still be able to redownload it at any point, so don’t panic.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance will be released on June 14 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
