Xbox Just Added A New Useful QOL Feature

November 9, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Players will soon receive a warning message.

Xbox Game Pass has proven to be quite a popular subscription service for players on the latest generation of Xbox console platforms. Both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S can access Game Pass. Each month, we get two waves of video games that are added to the collection of video game titles. However, alongside the two waves of additions are two waves of games that will leave the service. Typically, players could get a heads-up through the Xbox Wire. This Xbox Wire is the official blog post from Microsoft in which we get the reveal of not only what games are coming to the service but also what titles are leaving.

However, if you’re not one to keep tabs on the Xbox Wire or don’t actively seek out the new waves of game additions to the Xbox Game Pass service, you’re in luck. A new feature has been rolled out that will make an excellent, insightful impact on players. Thanks to Pure Xbox, we’re finding out today that a quality of life update will now display when video games are leaving the subscription service. Now, these announcements only cater to games that are unveiled to be leaving the subscription service from the Xbox Wire.

It’s pretty straightforward as well. When a player opens up a game from Game Pass that was marked to be leaving the service soon, a new warning message will appear. This message will alert the player that the game will soon be leaving the Game Pass subscription service and also display the date on which the game will no longer be available. That should help avoid any unexpected removals for some players who were not actively tracking what video games would be leaving the service.

That said, Microsoft provides an incentive for those who want to check out some games that are leaving the service. Players will find a special 20% discount on the game for players to purchase. This will allow players to secure a copy of the game to continue playing after it leaves the subscription service. Now, this 20% discount is only for those who are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass and can only be used before the game is officially off the subscription service. It’s worth pointing out that the warning messages also confirm that players can get the 20% discount if they wish to keep the game after it’s removed.
