You may not have heard this lately, but people are excited for a new entry in the Half-Life series. It's been some four years since the last episode was released and, since then, nothing. Sure, there's been the odd hint, the odd glimmer of hope, but on the whole there's been absolutely nothing be disappointment and resentment.
Steam group A Call for Communication has had enough, the 30,000+ strong group are ready for a little more information, even confirmation that the game will one day see release. They're ready to prove that there are still people interested in the series by holding a Half-Life 2 gameathon between 11am and 11:30am PDT, hoping that the sheer amount of players makes Valve open up entirely and spill the beans on a title at least four years in the making.
Of course, this whole idea hinges on the fact that Valve have forgotten to communicate with their fans, which clearly isn't the case. If they had anything to say, they'd probably share details and we'd all be warming in the glow of a trailer, a screenshot or an email from Gabe promising information in the near-future. In reality, this is unlikely to make any more difference than the thousands of emails the company gets each month, but Half-Life 2 is a classic and there's nothing wrong with people who never would have played it giving it a go any way.
