Nintendo fans are very excited for next week to come because that’s when they’ll be able to get their hands on Super Mario Bros Wonder. The new 2D title with Mario and company looks to be one of the most unique adventures the crew has had in 2D in some time, and all indications are that this will be legendary to play. Nintendo certainly seems to think the game is special, as they’re going to great lengths to promote it across many platforms. You might have heard that the game is available as a demo in several stores across the US, and now, Nintendo is releasing mini-short movies about the game’s characters.
The first short that dropped featured Mario getting turned into an elephant and learning the “pros and cons” of having such a transformation happen to him. It was rather funny, and you can check it out below:
The second short was released today, and it continued the “elephant transformation” videos but with one heck of a twist. In this case, Bowser approaches Princess Peach and again tries to woo her by offering her a flower. Naturally, she isn’t interested, and that’s when the elephant fruit bounces in and transforms her into Elephant Peach.
Naturally, Bowser is stunned by this at first because he clearly hasn’t seen this transformation before. But that’s where the hilarious twist comes in because he then shows that he REALLY likes this new version of Peach! Check it out below:
We’ll admit, we didn’t see that ending coming, and yet it very much speaks to the “nature” of the king of the Koopas. No matter what, we wouldn’t be surprised if Super Mario Bros Wonder got another short or two like this before the full game drops next week.
When the game does drop, players can expect a whole new kind of adventure set within the new realm known as the Flower Kingdom. Bowser has taken it over thanks to the abilities of the Wonder Flower, and now Mario and crew will team up to try and free the landscape from his grasp. But that won’t be easy, as the Flower Kingdom has numerous new enemies for them to deal with, and the Wonder Flower will transform levels into something unpredictable every time they touch one.
But they won’t be completely helpless; many new power-ups, like becoming an elephant, will be available. Plus, they’ll have badges that they can use to give themselves extra abilities in levels.
The game arrives on October 20th on Nintendo Switch.
