Starfield Gets Another Update Bringing It To 1.7.36

October 9, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Here’s what has been adjusted.

Starfield was easily one of the biggest video game launches for the year. Bethesda had been teasing this new RPG for years. Initially, the game was unveiled to be in the works, and at the time, it was a game slated for the next-generation console platforms. Of course, since then, Microsoft had acquired Bethesda, and this Starfield RPG turned into an Xbox Series X/S and PC platform exclusive. So, while this was a major win for Microsoft, those on PlayStation 5 are left without. With that said the development team had quite a bit of time to work out any bugs and technical issues with the game. Also, with the game not releasing on PlayStation 5, there was more focus on the PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

Still, that doesn’t mean some areas could not be improved. A few bugs have come up that allowed Bethesda to dig through the game and make some adjustments. Today, a new patch update went on, giving players more fixes and even settings. It’s a small patch update, so don’t expect too many fixes, but thanks to the Bethesda website, we have the full patch notes available for 1.7.36. Since it’s a minor patch, we’ll list down everything that was changed. However, you can view the official patch notes right here.

Starfield 1.7.36 Update Patch Notes

General

  • FOV: Sliders are now available in Settings that allow players using first person or third person to adjust their FOV.

Performance and Stability

  • [PC ONLY] Improved stability for Intel Arc GPUs.
  • Various additional stability and performance improvements.

Quest

  • Echoes of the Past: Addressed an issue where tunneling creatures could pick a location that would prevent progression.

That’s everything from this patch update. Again, it was overall a small update, and there are likely quite a few features planned for the game in an upcoming patch. For instance, one of the big issues players had with Starfield was the lack of maps, especially within cities. So, your first few times roaming around a city could easily be a frustrating one. However, just when we’ll see a significant update remains to be seen. Then there’s also the wait for mod support and even the first post-launch game expansions to be added to the game. With Starfield being such a massive RPG already, there’s no telling just what else Bethesda has planned.
