Speedrunners Are Already Setting Some Impressive Starfield Runs

September 5, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Who will reign on the leaderboard?

Starfield is getting ready to release tomorrow. Technically, this game has already been available for players since last week. The video game made its way into the marketplace through early access. So those that had access were able to start their journeys already. But the official full launch into the marketplace takes place tomorrow, and that will prompt quite a few players to log into their Xbox accounts and on PC to enjoy this latest RPG from the talented folks over at Bethesda.

With that said, just about every game typically has a fan base who would attempt a speedrun. Speedrunners are pretty impressive to watch. These skilled players attempt to complete a game in the fastest time possible. To make things even more spectacular, they might add rules to constrain themselves from specific abilities or weapons to prompt an even more complex challenge. While we might not see some of the leaderboards pop up online for Starfield until the game has been available for a little while, speedrunners are already charting out some pathways.

In fact, we’re finding out that some speedrunners are getting the game completed in under three hours, thanks to a report from Insider Gaming. That’s quite a feat, and we’re sure the times will continue to drop as the game circulates around a bit more. Right now, speedrunners are looking to figure everything out that might help cut down their time. This means knowing what weapons, items, ships, quests, and more are crucial to ensure that they have what they need to get through the main campaign.

Of course, there might also be some glitches that can be used to further cut down the playtime required to reach the credits. Right now, the hype is at an all-time high for this game. Tomorrow, September 6, 2023, the Starfield title will be available for everyone to pick up and play. Meanwhile, you can also pick this game up through Xbox Game Pass, a service that just revealed the first wave of games coming this month. Meanwhile, if you want more insight into the game and what it entails, we suggest checking out our Before You Buy video coverage embedded below. This video will give you our overall impressions of the game, along with some footage that we deem to be free from anything spoiler-heavy for the campaign.
