Nicki Minaj Enters Call of Duty This Month

August 21, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

We know the release date for Nicki’s operator skin.

It might have surprised some fans of Call of Duty that hip-hop star Nicki Minaj would be entering the game franchise. We reported about this last month when the news first broke. If you didn’t catch the initial reports, this was due to Call of Duty celebrating 50 years of hip-hop. As a result, a few new operator skins were dropped into the game, such as Snoop Dogg. But today, thanks to a tweet from the ModernWarzone Twitter account, we know when the next skin will drop, highlighting female artist Nicki Minaj.

According to the tweet, this character’s skin drop will be released on August 24, 2023. Meanwhile, those interested in picking up the character will find it available for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty Warzone. This might be a skin you’ve been waiting on, but we’re still awaiting details like the potential price to acquire the skin. Likewise, seeing what other collaborations might be in the works for the iconic FPS franchise would be interesting.

While we have this skin in the works, there might be more attention diverted toward what’s beyond Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Not long ago, we had the official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 reveal event. If you didn’t catch this event, those that completed the event in Call of Duty Warzone were given the official trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Of course, since then, the trailer has been released, which you can view below. This upcoming installment will release on November 10, 2023.

Meanwhile, those of you still playing Call of Duty Warzone Caldera, the first iteration of Call of Duty Warzone, will soon lose access. It’s already been revealed that the game will shut down on September 21, 2023. That means you have just a month left to enjoy the game before it’s removed for good. As for the overall future of Call of Duty, that’s another aspect up in the air. Microsoft has been seeking out the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which would put Call of Duty under its control.

All that we’re waiting on right now is approval from the CMA regulator. Of course, we already know that even if Call of Duty lands under the control of Microsoft, competitor platforms will still receive copies of the game. You’ll see Call of Duty on platforms like the PlayStation 5 for at least ten more years once Microsoft acquires Activision Blizzard.
