Blizzard has put out a new short animated film for its upcoming FPS, Overwatch. The last one showed the origins of the gorilla Winston and how he came to reactivate the Overwatch organization in the midst of a new crisis.
This time around, we get to see Tracer and Widowmaker go up against each other in a new trailer called “Alive,” which shows Widowmaker’s attempts to assassinate Zenyatta, the omnic monk. In the aftermath of the Omnic War, the robot rallies both humans and intelligent robots to create peace. Widowmaker doesn’t really want this to happen, for whatever reason, and sets out to kill him.
Tracer is aware of the sniper’s plans and decides to foil them by stepping in. You can watch their showdown in the video below.
The game is set for launch on May 24 on the PC, Xbox One and PS4. It’s a multiplayer-only title with no single-player campaign. Players who pre-order the Battle.net version of the game early will receive Tracer as a free unlockable character in Heroes of the Storm this month.
All maps and characters are designed to be free, and players will be able to earn in-game currency by playing the game as well as new skins, emotes and poses through leveling up.
