Origin Access is a subscription program on EA’s own Origin game client. Just like EA Access on Xbox One or PlayStation Plus, it gives players access to a growing library of games. EA layers this with an automatic 10 % discount to all games on Origin and access to all first trials. First trials are not ordinary demos, but instead give access to the full versions of newly released game for a limited number of hours.

As of this writing, these are the games on the Origin Access library now:

  • Battlefield 3
  • Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition
  • Battlefield Hardline Digital Deluxe Edition
  • Dead Space
  • Dead Space 2
  • Dead Space 3
  • Dragon Age 2
  • Dragon Age Inquisition Digital Deluxe Edition
  • Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition
  • FIFA 15
  • Need for Speed Rivals: complete Edition
  • Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare
  • SimCity
  • The Sims 3 Starter Pack
  • This War of Mine
  • Titanfall Deluxe Edxition
  • Torchlight II

Considering Origin Access was launched only last January, EA has quickly collected an impressive collection. They also gave fans a huge gift by making Titanfall free on the service, but clearly it could benefit from the addition of more third-party games. With this in mind, Stoic’s The Banner Saga was a prime choice. It certainly does not hurt that Stoic itself was made by some developers from Bioware.

Does The Banner Saga make you want to subscribe to Origin Access? Or do you think EA should sweeten the pot further? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
