Microsoft has announced the games it will offer to Xbox Live Gold subscribers in April as part of the Games with Gold promotion in an update on the Xbox Wire.
Xbox One owners will be able to download Telltale Games’ The Wolf Among Us from April 1st to April 30th and Insomniac Games’ Sunset Overdrive from April 16th until May 15th.
Those who own an Xbox 360 can download EA Visceral’s Dead Space from April 1st to April 15th and Volition’s Saints Row 4 from April 16th until April 30th.
The Xbox One games are tied to your account only for the duration of your Gold subscription while the Xbox 360 games are yours to keep forever. It’s a pretty good lineup from Microsoft with some great games included.
While Dead Space may not be recent (it launched in 2008), it remains one of the best sci-fi horror games of the last decade. Saints Row 4 gives the Boss all new powers as they become President of the United States and must face off against an alien invasion by the advanced Zin Empire with plenty of jokes to keep you invested along the way.
Sunset Overdrive is a colourful shooter set in a world infected by a zombie-creating soft drink with plenty of fourth-wall-breaking references and jokes. Finally, The Wolf Among Us is one of Telltale’s few attempts at a truly original story that builds on classic fairytales.
Sony has not yet announced the games it will offer through its PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection next month but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as they do.
