Battleborn is Gearbox’s upcoming MOBA/shooter. Today, the developer announced details for its upcoming beta test.
The open beta will begin on April 8 for the PS4, followed by the PC and Xbox One on April 13. It will include access to two story episodes, Void’s Edge and The Algorithm. Players will be able to participate in the test until it shuts down on April 18. Two modes will be available, including Incursion and Meltdown. Additionally, all 25 heroes will be available for players to enjoy.
Weighing 8.5GB for the PS4, you’ll be able to preload it on April 6. It weighs 11GB on Xbox One and 12GB on PC.
Gearbox also revealed that the game’s story mode will be styled in the structure of a TV series. The story will span eight episodes and a prologue, each of which will have a self-contained story, with the full season concluding with the game’s end.
We covered Battleborn recently in a preview of its Incursion Mode. The game, which has since gone gold, will offer a variety of paid unlocks beyond its release as well as free content to add five new characters to the roster.
According to its publisher 2K Games, the title will stick to DLC models that are already well received in the console games community, focusing mostly on aesthetic content and story missions in the form of five upcoming content packs. Each content pack will cost $4.99 and add exclusive hero skins and taunts plus one Story Operation, which can be played solo, split-screen, or online co-op multiplayer.
The game is out on May 3 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
