Hogwarts Legacy is releasing on February 10, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows and Epic Games Store. However, some gamers are trying to get in to play the game in a few hours, even when they’re supposed to.
The situation is that Hogwarts Legacy offered an early access period for consumers who preordered the game. The very first players who get the earliest access to the game will be those residing in New Zealand, on February 7, 2023. As of this writing, it has already been three hours since that time frame, and that number of early access players is already growing. Reviews for the game have also started coming out.
Those players would be fans who preordered the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC players have to wait 21 hours after console players to get their turn, at 10 AM PM February 7, 2023.
As covered by GamesRadar, those Hogwarts Legacy players were even making memes about getting first access to the game on the Harry Potter game Reddit. Since that time, players have confirmed that spoofing your location does work. There is even a guide on the subforum on how to do this as well. Portkey Games and Avalanche Software have surely anticipated that players would try this, seeing as they have also already seen a lot of leaks coming out and being gobbled by players. At least in these early hours, they have left players alone to get their games started.
Without getting into the reviews yet, some fans are also talking about the experience they have playing Hogwarts Legacy on the Xbox Series X console.
Consistent_Time says that performance mode ‘looks really good’, though nothing to be said so far about how combat is like, it may be a few hours before that become relevant.
Meanwhile, user kqly-sudo is running the game on fidelity mode, and they are also very impressed with the graphics, after playing for an hour to get impressions. kqly-sudo points out that there is an option to uncap the framerate. However, they say this leads to fidelity mode stuttering, so it is best to keep it capped on fidelity mode.
There was also another thread where someone asked about Xbox Series S performance. While no one gave detailed answers, they did confirm that the game players very well on that platform as well.
The vibes are overall very positive on the Harry Potter game subreddit, and it seems the Potterverse fanbase is eager to finally get to play Hogwarts Legacy.
