Dead Space Remake Shares Impressive Accolades Trailer

February 6, 2023 by Alexandra Nicholson

Ten days after release, the critical verdict is fairly unanimous.

It’s only been out for just over a week, but it’s fair to say that the gaming community is blown away by the Dead Space remake. EA Motive’s reimagining of the iconic Dead Space from 2008 has been met with a wealth of positive feedback from critics. To highlight some of this feedback, a new accolades trailer just dropped that showcases some of the critical responses to the Dead Space remake.

The ambitious remake, which was rebuilt from scratch in EA Motive’s Frostbite engine, was released on January 27 to an audience who will have had some pretty high expectations. After all, the original Dead Space franchise has often been defined as a genre-defining series. Adding into this the space horror trend that emerged towards the end of last year and that looks set to continue into this one, gamers were eagerly anticipating the release of the remake for some time.

It definitely seems as though the time spent designing, rebuilding and perfecting their take on the remake of Dead Space has paid off for EA Motive though. As can be seen in the new accolades trailer, critical impressions of the game have been nothing short of fantastic so far. You can check out the Dead Space remake accolades trailer right here to get an idea of what’s being said about the sci-fi survival horror title.

Dead Space has also seen some positive praise from its original creator Glen Schofield, who was most recently involved in the creation and release of The Callisto Protocol, another sci-fi survival horror and spiritual cousin of the Dead Space franchise. While The Callisto Protocol may not have brought in quite the same level of critical praise as the Dead Space remake seems to have done, it’s clear that there’s still plenty of appetite for this particular brand of space horror. EA Motive is also thought to be keen to further explore the Dead Space universe, commenting in a recent interview that there’s a hope within the team to continue to expand on the adventures created through this series.

It’s more than likely we won’t see any follow-up titles to the Dead Space remake just yet, as EA Motive will need time to reflect and enjoy the success that the game is currently enjoying before beginning to think of the next step for the franchise. However, for diehard Dead Space fans, it’s exciting to know that the possibility of more games isn’t completely ruled out.

Dead Space is available now on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
