Gears Of War Ultimate Edition Developer Working On Multi-GPU Support

Rod was also frank about one issue The Coalition is working on right now. As the game works now, trying to unlock the framerate is futile, because it will run at the monitor’s framerate. They are currently looking on the possibility they will have to raise this metric.

Rod is referring to a feature that The Coalition promised when they first released Gears of War Ultimate Edition on PC. They claimed it would have an unlocked refresh rate. This meant that if gamers connected their PCs to a high-end monitor, it would perform beyond defaults of 30 to 60 FPS. It seems The Coalition ascertained it was not working as promised, but they are working on it at the moment.

The Coalition promised other features, including 4K support and Dolby 7.1 Surround sound, but upon launch, it came to light that it had many issues, and many of them related to graphics cards. It had difficulties running on AMD Radeon powered computers, and it also ran into issues if you attempted to run G-sync on it with an Nvidia card. Discrete GPUs on laptops also had trouble running the game.

The Coalition will have to fix issues with both AMD’s and Nvidia’s cards if they are going to get them to work together. Therefore, it’s safe to say that they will be able improve on both, even though no timetable has been surrounded.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition is available on PC via Windows 10 and Xbox One.
