Fans of the long-running Star Ocean series have something to celebrate today, as publisher Square Enix has released a new trailer for the upcoming entry, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. Aside from being one of the only games that may have been inadvertently named after a Jane Austen novel, Integrity and Faithlessness is the first Star Ocean title since 2009, when The Last Hope released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
“Set between the events of the second and third games in the series , STAR OCEAN: Integrity and Faithlessness takes place centuries after humans have left Earth for the stars. At this point in history, the Pangalactic Federation is nearing the fulfilment of its mission: Peace and order throughout the galaxy. However, the embers of conflict begin to stir once more on the planet of Faykreed, 6,000 light years from Earth, as a new story begins in the ocean of stars.”

Extra-savvy viewers will be able to notice that the trailer features English voice actors right from the get-go, as well as a rockin’ pop song called Astra Nova, from Japanese rock band androp.
Visually, the game is stunning, with incredibly vast oceans of…well…stars marked by breathtaking vistas and ridiculous anime costumes. Fans of the series will also be happy to know that the signature real-time combat seems to have returned fully intact, with players taking on the role of one of several party members at a time.
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness will release March 2016 for the PlayStation 4.
