Far Cry Primal launched on the PC today. To coincide with the game’s release on the PC, graphics hardware manufacturer Nvidia released its Game Ready drivers to stabilize the game’s framerate and ensure players on the PC get good performance out of the prehistoric first-person (bow) shooter.
For those not in the know, Far Cry Primal takes players back to 10,000 BC and puts them in the role of a prehistoric warrior who must find a way to survive in a savage land after his clan is wiped out.
“The Stone Age is the perfect setting for a Far Cry game,” said Jean-Christophe Guyot, creative director. “Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless and savage frontier. The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it’s the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself.”

The new drivers are versioned at 362.00 WHQL and also include optimizations for the newly out Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on the PC, which got a surprise release today.
The release highlights read as follows:
Prior to a new title launching, our driver team is working up until the last minute to ensure every performance tweak and bug fix possible makes it into the Game Ready driver. As a result, you can be sure you’ll have the best day-1 gaming experience for your favorite new titles.
