A fan has put forward evidence that the final map for Tom Clancy’s The Division will be six times as big as the area players were able to explore in the last beta.
Previously, another fan already made an analysis of the final map vs the beta. Based on his data, he found that the map represented 22 % of the final map. This analysis was based on an interactive map that Ubisoft released online.
However, for this new analysis, our source seems to have obtained a copy of the game early, as some retailers broke street date. If you manage to do this, you would not be able to play anyway since the servers will not go live until the official launch date. Still, this was how our source can verify the accuracy of his information.
To get these calculations, our source took a copy of the map, figured out which parts are in the beta, used an online tool to measure the map areas, and then did some calculations of his own. You can see the map he has shared to prove his calculations below.
Tom Clancy’s The Division will be released on March 8th, 2016 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One. You can also read a size comparison between the worlds of The Division to Grand Theft Auto V and Fallout 4, and an interactive map that lets you see how far the pandemic would spread where you live.
