Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has been doing incredibly since its launch nearly two weeks ago. It’s gotten great reviews and doing well on the Nintendo eShop. Fans are singing its praises, and so on. But the team at Ubisoft knows that fans don’t just want a great base game. They want a chance to play new content with it over time. So in the original crossover between Mario and the Rabbids, an expansive DLC campaign was done to bring Donkey Kong into the mix. Before the sequel’s release, we got a tease of what would come via the Season Pass. Today, we got a look at more details for it.
The season pass is available right now, but its main content won’t be released until next year. The first DLC will arrive “in early 2023” and feature a new combat mode called “The Tower of Doom.” If you recall one of the challenges you faced in each world, a certain Rabbid will give you a tough map to clear. If you did it, you got special rewards. This appears to be an extension of that and possibly an even tougher endeavor than the maps you faced before. Hopefully, more details will arrive as we get closer to that. As the tweet notes, this content will only be available to Season Pass users.
The second DLC pack will come out around next summer, and it’ll feature even more to do. You’ll go to a planet where a brand-new foe awaits you. While we don’t know her name, she does resemble the custom Rabbids that were the mini-bosses for the game or someone like Edge. Perhaps they are another Spark Hunter who broke away from the pack to do their own evil? Judging by the background of that DLC, the world we’re going to maybe a jungle theme, which we didn’t have before.
The final DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is what many were excited about when it was teased earlier this year. Why? Because it’s the DLC that will bring Rayman back into the fold! Remember, the Rayman games brought the Rabbids to life in the first place. So thus, it’s only natural that he appears in their hit title.
That DLC won’t be out for at least a year. However, it does state it’s a brand-new adventure starring Rayman, Rabbid Peach, and Rabbid Mario. It’ll be interesting to see if they return to a Rayman-like world or if Rayman jumps in to see how the Rabbids are doing.
All in all, the DLC seems very promising. The team at Ubisoft put everything they had into the main game. So you can expect a similar level of love and care here.
