Xbox One February Update Detailed, Launches Tomorrow

February 18, 2016 by Stephen Daly

Adds the ability to see who’s in a group before joining and more.

Xbox One Update
Microsoft has detailed the February’s Xbox One system update which will be available from tomorrow on the home console and today on the Windows 10 Xbox App.

Among the features included is the ability to preview the members of a party before joining it, the option to re-arrange Pins on the Home menu and access them when offline, as well as Gamerscore Leaderboards.

Additional features include an enhanced Activity Feed, customisable hotkeys for the Xbox One chat pad, and shortcuts to join your friends’ Twitch streams. Another change is the transfer of the Avatar Store from the Xbox 360, which offers a range of thousands of cosmetic items for your personalised avatar.

The update will allow users to hide game in the ready to install list, there’ll also be a use-a-code shortcut added to the Xbox One Store, and improvements to the suggested friends list.

Further information on the features offered by the latest system update can be found on Major Nelson’s blog.

It was recently announced that formerly Xbox One-exclusive title Quantum Break will also be coming to PC. Those who pre-order the game will receive a free copy of Remedy Entertainment’s time-bending action adventure title and Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said the company plans to make its version of cross-buy a system standard for both first and third parties.

We’ll likely know about the initiative and the game that will support it at E3, where Microsoft may also outline its plans for future system updates on Xbox One.

What do you think of the features in the February update? Sound off in the comments below.
