Genshin Impact: Nilou Constellation Guide

October 28, 2022 by Maddy Cohen

Nilou leaves Genshin Impact’s limited time banner soon, so make sure you get her to the right Constellation level!

Table of Contents[Hide][Show]
  • C1 – Dance of the Waning Moon
  • C2 – The Starry Skies Their Flowers Rain
  • C3 – Beguiling Shadowstep
  • C4 – Fricative Pulse
  • C5 – Twirling Light
  • C6 – Frostbreaker’s Melody

Unlike her Combat Talents, Nilou’s Constellation benefits are much more straightforward to understand. However, straightforward does not mean useless. Nilou’s Constellation is pretty awesome and provides Nilou with some great buffs.

Overall, C2 is Nilou’s best Constellation, though C1 is also a nice place to stop. But C2 provides a unique enemy debuff. However, keep in mind that none of Nilou’s Constellations expand her team usability. To take full advantage of Nilou’s buffs and skills, you still need a full Hydro/Dendro team.

C1 – Dance of the Waning Moon

C1 adds additional buffs to Nilou’s Elemental Skill. Luminous Illusion DMG will be increased by 65% and Tranquility Aura’s duration will be extended by 6 seconds.

Nilou’s Skill functions similarly to Diluc’s. The Skill icon will change between three attacks in the following order: Water Wheel (the second form of Water Breathing), Sword Dance, and Luminous Illusion.

Tranquility Aura will be triggered when you use Water Wheel, so that duration will kick in first. Tranquility Aura applies Wet to nearby enemies every 2 seconds, so you get an extra three Wet applications with C1.

The Luminous Illusion buff occurs next, provided that Nilou stays on the field to use all three Skill moves.

C2 – The Starry Skies Their Flowers Rain

C2 only works if you follow the limitations from Nilou’s Passive Talent, Court of Dancing Petals. Essentially, you’re required to have a full Hydro/Dendro team with Nilou to do the most damage possible. You need at least one Hydro and one Dendro character on your team, with the other two being either Hydro or Dendro. For example, a team with Nilou, Xingqiu, Barbara, and the Dendro Traveler would be affected by the Golden Chalice’s Bounty. However, a team with Nilou, Xingqiu, the Dendro Traveler, and Cyno (an Electro character) would not.

After characters affected by the Golden Chalice’s Bounty deal Hydro DMG to an opponent, that opponent has their Hydro RES decreased by 35% for 10 seconds. If you trigger a Bloom reaction and that reaction hits an opponent, their Dendro RES will be decreased by 35% for 10 seconds. Court of the Dancing Petals needs to be activated – this happens immediately after ascending Nilou for the first time. This is a fantastic Constellation and relatively easy to take advantage of immediately.

C3 – Beguiling Shadowstep

Upon activation, Nilou’s Elemental Burst – Dance of Abzendegi: Distant Dreams, Listening Spring – gains 3 Talent Levels. Its maximum upgrade level becomes 15.

C4 – Fricative Pulse

After the third hit from Nilou’s Elemental Skill, Nilou gains 15 Elemental Energy and her Burst damage receives a 50% increase for 8 seconds. If you get this far, make sure you always use Nilou’s Skill before using her Burst. Otherwise, nothing super fun happens here. You should only get this far if you intend on C6’ing Nilou.

C5 – Twirling Light

Upon activation, Nilou’s Elemental Skill – Dance of Haftkarsvar – gains 3 Talent Levels. Its maximum upgrade level becomes 15.

C6 – Frostbreaker’s Melody

Much like Kokomi’s C6, Nilou’s C6 adds a buff based on her Max HP. For every 1,000 points of Nilou’s Max HP, her CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG will increase by 0.6% and 1.2%, respectively. The CRIT stats can be boosted in this way up to 30% and 60%, respectively.

Knowing that means zilch to many people and because math is hard, here’s the math:

You can take advantage of this stack 50 times. The ratios for both CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG stay the same, so one won’t be boosted more than the other. Nilou’s C6 also doesn’t require a baseline HP before the buff kicks in, so you don’t have to get Nilou to 70,000 HP in order to receive the full buff.

From here, it’s easy math. If Nilou requires 50 stacks to receive the full percent increases and she receives a stack for every 1,000 HP points, then Nilou needs at least 50,000 HP. If you can get her here, she will be unstoppable.
