Fat Princess Adventures was released this past December, and already Fun Bits Interactive have issued a second update. Today the digitally released action-RPG will receive free content for both the Story and Arena Modes.
Upping the ante from the Hard and Cakemare difficulty levels, Story Mode will now have another tier called This Means War. Not only are the players advised to pair up with others to take on this new challenge, but the level cap has also been raised to 30 so that they’re better equipped to do so. Arena Mode, meanwhile, gets a new map in the Salt Mountains, which with last month’s update brings the total of new maps to three, joining the Castle and Temple Arena additions from January.
New DLC for purchase has also been added with the update, the Back and Badder Loot Pack. It will “add some attitude to your character’s setup, with new gear like the Archer’s Boomstick or the Warrior’s Wargod’s Armor”. The ability to purchase Gem Packs to upgrade weapons and gear and new cosmetic customization options have been promised as well.
Fat Princess Adventures was first announced as part of the PlayStation Experience event in December 2015 and debuted digitally as an exclusive on PlayStation 4 on December 5, 2015. It was released to mixed, mostly mediocre reviews. Its predecessor Fat Princess, which was far better received, came out on PlayStation 3 in 2009. The expanded PSP version Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake, which offered additional levels and four exclusive multiplayer modes, followed a year later. The character of Fat Princess was also included in the ill-fated PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
