The release window for Titanfall 2 may have been accidentally revealed by McFarlane Toys in a new press release, which announced a collaboration between the toy company and EA Games to create action figures for Titanfall 2. The company will be releasing its lineup of toys at the same time as the game’s release. They are slated for a “Winter 2016” release.
The press release stated: “The McFarlane Toys action figures will be released in conjunction with the highly anticipated launch of Titanfall 2!”
McFarlane Toys describes the action figures as part of its 2016 Collector Box Program. Each figure stands seven inches tall, and offers fifteen points of articulation allowing owners to pose these characters however they see fit. Each figure also comes with screen accurate accessories and weapons and boasts the same level of detail as the company’s other toys.
“This is a perfect fit. McFarlane Toys was created so I could make cool stuff just like this,” said Todd McFarlane, Owner and CEO of McFarlane Toys. “Without saying too much about the new game… You’re not going to believe where we can take this.”
After the press release went live, Electronic Arts was quick to clarify that the date was only relevant to the toys and not the game itself, as neither the publisher nor the game’s developer Respawn Entertainment have yet to officially confirm the release date for their upcoming sequel.
Considering that the game is still in development, there’s a good chance that it won’t come out at the same time as the toys.
