Fan-Made Half-Life 2 Remake Showcases Insane Visuals

September 22, 2022 by Jordan Biazzo

This looks amazing!

Valve and Steam really created an icon when they made the original Half-Life title way back in the day. The series captured the minds of gamers with its innovative gameplay mechanics (at the time) and its immersive storytelling. The game went on to receive a sequel, which was also critically acclaimed. However, since the release of Half-Life 2, Valve has not really touched the franchise for 13 years!

Fans are itching to see a proper sequel title to the ongoing franchise. Even though Valve’s attempt at a VR title, Half-Life: Alyx did manage to bring the iconic world of Half-Life back to the gaming world, gamers want a full-on sequel and one that finally tells us whatever happens after the end of the second game, which leaves off with a major cliffhanger. Well, to keep us from waiting another 13 years, YouTube user TeaserPlays, has created a concept video showcasing what a Half-Life 2 Remake would look like using Unreal Engine 5.

The new video showcase is absolutely stunning. Unreal Engine 5 manages to be a very powerful gaming engine as some of these visuals look like a studio-level gameplay trailer. The two-minute trailer showcases a look at the illusive G-Man, Gordon Freeman, and of course the epic world of Half-Life in gorgeous detail.

Check out the fan-made Half-Life 2 Remake made in Unreal Engine 5 down below.

The Half-Life franchise has been one of the pillars in the gaming industry. Since the release of Valves’ latest entry in the series — Half-Life: Alyx, we haven’t seen a Half-Life game for 13 years! Valve may never return to the beloved franchise and continue the epic Grodan Freeman storyline. However, if they do, many fans as well as newcomers would be jumping aboard the hype train.

In related news, YouTube user TeaserPlays has also brought another fan-made concept to life. This time around, they created an in-game concept video showcasing what Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red might look like. In the video above, we see a ton of great Feudal Japan locations, an overview of some cities, and plenty more. If you’re interested in checking out the concept for Asssassin’s creed: Codename Red, check out the full video right here!

Half-Life 1, Half-Life 2, and Half-Life: Alyx are all available to play on PC. Would you like to see a new entry in the series? Would a remake scratch that itch for you?
