The Division’s Beta vs. Full Game Size Revealed

February 5, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

The Division’s map is huge. Here’s how the beta compares to the full game.

Players who’ve experienced the recent closed beta of The Division will have seen only a small portion of the full game, Ubisoft has revealed. As large as the map area present within the beta may be, it’s only a fraction of what the full game has to offer. The game, which has been in development for quite awhile, will feature the entire island of Manhattan, remade on a scale of 1:1.

Today, Ubisoft released an interactive map of The Division, giving us an idea of exactly how much of Manhattan is within the beta. A redditor named MiCK_GaSM used the available information to compare just how much content was in the beta, to how much players can experience in the full game. In the screenshot below, you can see the beta areas highlighted in blue, over the blue areas present in the full game.

By adding a grid overlay, he managed to calculate that the beta space made up approximately 22% of the game’s total area content.

Granted, this method doesn’t take into account any and all of the internal areas present in the game’s mission instances, such as the hospital in the beta–but it does give us a rough idea of how much more content we can expect to see in the full game.

The Division is set for release on March 8, 2016 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
