In another disappointing turn to Batman Arkham Knight, Rocksteady Studios has revealed that they are no longer porting the game to Mac or Linux.
Rocksteady shared a brief statement confirming the news, without context or explanation. They also tell users who bought Batman Arkham Knight for those operating systems to apply for refunds with Steam.
Batman Arkham Knight was released in shoddy condition on PC upon launch. The number of performance and graphics issues broke the game so much Warner Bros Interactive publicly declared it was broken and suspended sales on the platform. While Warner Bros Interactive and Rocksteady committed to fixing the game, it took the rest of the year to resolve most of the issues.
Further hurting Rocksteady’s and Warner Bros Interactive’s reputation were reports that Warner was well aware that the PC version was not ready to release, and went ahead and published it anyway.
Warner Bros Interactive’s situation continues to go through the ringer, as they lately decided to drop all PC support for Mortal Kombat X. This means all current and future Mortal Kombat X betas and updates will only be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. They are doing so at a point when Mortal Kombat X on PC remains bug-ridden and actually needing a patch.
