Harry Potter fans may have a new clue for the highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy release date. UK-based fans who preordered the upcoming art book, The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy: Exploring the Unwritten Wizarding World, on Amazon UK were the first to sound the alarm. Originally, the book was set to be released on December 31, 2022. However, recently, customers saw the release date shift to December 6, 2022, which is interesting for a couple of reasons.
First, December 6, 2022 is a Tuesday. All of us who have waited for our favorite games to launch know that Tuesdays are a popular launch day for video games. Second, the developer, Avalanche Software, and the publisher, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, have reassured fans that Hogwarts Legacy will not be delayed and will be released this year. December 31 would be cutting it pretty close, right? Maybe the art book’s release date was moved to coincide with a certain game?
It also isn’t uncommon for an art book to be released on the same day as the game itself. For example, Warner Bros. scheduled Gotham Knights to be released on October 25, 2022. It also has an accompanying art book that will be released on the same day. That means it is at least possible that the Hogwarts Legacy game and art book would be released on the same day as well.
This is all just a guess as we eagerly await an official announcement. The game will feature the same wizarding world and school from Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts franchises. The player will be a fifth-year student who stumbles across an ancient power, and with the help of many familiar faces from the franchise, will try to keep the power out of evil hands. When Hogwarts Legacy does launch, it will be available on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
