Bayonetta 3 was originally revealed with a teaser trailer at The Game Awards in 2017. After that initial teaser, PlatinumGames, the developer of the title, went dark on the project for a long time. This led fans to worry about whether the game was in development hell and if would ever come out at all. It wasn’t until last year that we finally got an update on the much-anticipated character action game with a brand-new trailer and a release window of 2022. The game looks to be in good shape, and we have now seen plenty of its signature hack and slash gameplay in action. There are only a few months left until players can get their hands on it, but when exactly is Bayonetta 3 releasing in 2022?
When will Bayonetta 3 release?
Nintendo typically showcases a Nintendo Direct in June, but that did not happen this year. The company has been providing updates and new game announcements on social media instead, and this is exactly what PlatinumGames did with Bayonetta 3. The studio released a Tweet and a new trailer recently to reveal that the release date for Bayonetta 3 will be October 28 this year. The game will be released as a Nintendo Switch exclusive and there is also a Trinity Masquerade Edition available to pre-order. The Trinity Masquerade Edition contains a full-color 200-page art book, as well as reversible game cases for each game in the Bayonetta series on Switch. The cases can be combined to form a panoramic image.
