Genesis 3, one of the biggest Super Smash Bros tournaments of the year, ends on a high note, with Armada, Zero, and Wario taking the top spots for Super Smash Bros for Wii U, Super Smash Bros Melee, and Super Smash Bros (Nintendo 64), respectively.

As a first, this was the first time that the tournament was officially partnered with Nintendo of America. The tournament was held from the 15th to the 17th, in the San Jose Convention Center in California. This is possibly the biggest venue that has held a Super Smash Bros-themed tournament. It’s definitely bigger than the venue EVO uses for their annual event.

Thanks to raising $ 43,060 from their compendium, Genesis assembled $12,500 in pot bonuses, with $ 5,000 for Melee singles, $ 5,000 to Smash Draft, $ 2,000 for Wii U Crews Battke, and a special Bobby Scar Award of $ 500 for a 5^th place Top 8 Melee match.

Aside from all three finals, Genesis 3 was also noteworthy for hosting Smash Sisters, the first ladies crew event held for Smash. This event was held off stream, but you can read more about it here.
