So, fans are going nuts over the possibility Naughty Dog is killing off Nathan Drake inUncharted 4 A Thief’s End. Are you one of those people? Because this may be good or bad news for you.
In a new interview, Neil Druckman once again makes vague statements that bolster the theory. This time, however, the words he uses are stronger in tone. To quote verbatim:
But with the end of [A Thief's End's] story, it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake. Maybe there'll be a prequel, maybe it will be a different character, I don't know. But this is the end for Nathan Drake.
Now, to be fair, ending Drake’s career as adventure extraordinaire does not necessarily have to mean killing him off. It’s also possible they intend to give Drake a career ending injury of some type, such as losing a leg.
Alternately, they could just give Drake motivation to end his career of his own volition. He might even have motivation to go legit (perhaps, for example, to preserve his ancestor Sir Francis Drake’s legacy. It would certainly be interesting to play an Uncharted with that as a theme and endgame.
So, do you support the ‘literal end of Nathan Drake’ theory? Or is it possible Naughty Dog’s press runs are deliberately doing some misdirection? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End will be released exclusively on PlayStation 4 in April 2016.
