No Man’s Sky Is Coming to Nintendo Switch This Fall

June 23, 2022 by Ophelie Castelot

The game will be available on October 7.

Six years after its original release, No Man’s Sky is finally coming to Nintendo Switch this Fall. The space exploration game is already available on PC, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles. It is now about to reach the most popular handheld console, making space more accessible to millions of players. No Man’s Sky will be available on Nintendo Switch on October 7, 2022.

No Man’s Sky first appeared on PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows in 2016. Back then, the game faced serious backlash. It was far from offering everything promised in the early trailers, such as multiplayer features and interactions to have on planets.

The premise of the game is fairly simple to grasp, yet complicated to implement. The goal of No Man’s Sky is to explore an unlimited number of procedurally generated planets and uncover the mysteries of the universe. When the game came out, there wasn’t much to do. But six years later, Hello Games brought many updates to the game to fill out the gaps and make it worthwhile.

The Nintendo Switch Version Will Come Will All Updates since 2016

Throughout the years, the No Man’s Sky updates brought many anticipated features to the game. No Man’s Sky now features a multiplayer experience for up to 8 players on console and 32 players on PC. There are also more alien fauna and flora to discover, additional base-building features, new story content, and realistic weather effects.

The Nintendo Switch version of No Man’s Sky will feature the base game as well as all updates since 2016. Since June 2020, No Man’s Sky supports cross-play between all platforms. Whether this cross-play feature will support the Nintendo Switch at launch or not remains unclear.

No Man’s Sky will come to the Nintendo Switch on October 7, 2022. The game is already available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows. Ports for macOS and iPadOS are currently in development.
