You can stop holding your breath now. Obsidian and Paradox have announced a final release window for the Pillars of Eternity DLC The White March Part 2. We’ll see the expansion hit shelves sometime in late January 2016.
Along with the usual tune-ups and fixes, this DLC will conclude the White March story which started with last August’s DLC. Players can expect new quests, abilities, a higher level cap, and a Barbarian companion character. The companies also described a new “Story Time” mode which lets “players experience the incredible narrative of Pillars of Eternity at a faster pace." The next DLC is expected to be just as massive as the first, continuing Obsidian’s tradition of making old school PC games whose expansions contain huge chunks of story and content.
Pillars of Eternity came out for PC on March 26 to generally positive reviews after an immensely successful crowdsourcing campaign. While you’re waiting for the new DLC, you can also check out the Pillars of Eternity card game, created by Fallout lead designer Chris Taylor and funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign.
