There’s A Fallout 4 Game-Crashing Bug In Monsignor Plaza

November 16, 2015 by Carlos Chism

It’s a good idea to save before venturing into the area.

There’s a game-crashing bug in Fallout 4. One of the settlement quests sends players to Monsignor Plaza, and when the player arrives, the game crashes immediately, without warning or error message. This does not happen to all users, which is why you should save before taking up the quest. If you are affected, you won’t lose any progress.

For the minority that is affected, you can join the others who have reported in the Bethesda forums about the issue. Bethesda has not yet commented on the bug. Bethesda games are notorious for being riddled with glitches, and while Fallout 4 is no exception, as can be seen in this collection of bizarre bugs, there hasn’t been a major game-crashing bug discovered until this point. Hopefully, a patch will be quickly released so that those who want to finish the quest can do so.

If this glitch has interrupted your work on the settlement questline, there are plenty of other things to do. You could start looking for all 20 Vault-Tec bobble heads, tinker with your weapons and armor, or start a magazine collection. If you’re playing on PC and having other technical issues, make sure your settings are optimized. You may have to tweak some INI files as well.

Fallout 4 is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
