New Trailer For ROUTINE Shared At Summer Game Fest

June 10, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

Don’t watch this trailer before bed.

There was a lot of sci-fi horror showcased at last night’s Summer Game Fest event but one reveal that looked and sounded especially creepy was ROUTINE. The team at Lunar Software gave viewers a revitalised look into the game’s chilling premise with some brand new gameplay footage, and it’s safe to say that abject terror is definitely at the core of this game.

ROUTINE has been in development since 2013 and up until now, things have been fairly quiet. Last night, viewers got to see some in-game footage that demonstrates the way in which ROUTINE has been rebuilt from the ground up to create a more mature and environmentally haunting setting than that of its first concept. To get a real feel for what’s to come, check out the gameplay footage for yourself below.

In addition to looking incredibly creepy, ROUTINE has had a major boost to its audio design by bringing on the renowned composer Mick Gordon (Doom, Prey, Wolfenstein: The New Order) to compose and provided both the game’s atmospheric score and sound effects. ROUTINE will be published by Raw Fury, whose CEO Jonas Antonson shared his enthusiasm for the project.

Like many others, I have been waiting for this game for a long time. Originally, I thought I’d just get to experience it as a gamer and a fan. But then the developers decided to team up with us! I’m beyond excited to go this amazing journey with them.

Jonas Antonson, CEO, Raw Fury

ROUTINE is set in an abandoned lunar base that’s designed around an 80’s vision of the future. As a first-person sci-fi horror adventure, players will need to navigate the base and uncover what happened there whilst avoiding the malicious threat of whatever those terrifying-looking things in the trailer are.

While ROUTINE has no official launch date as yet, we know that it will be released for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass and PC. Players can also add the game to their Steam wishlist now to be kept in the loop. We’ll be keeping an ear to the ground for further updates from the developers as the game gets closer to launching.
