The Xbox One Elite console launches today, November 3. The model, priced at $500, features a 1 TB solid state hybrid hard drive (SSHD), which allows it to boot up 20 percent faster than the original model. The console also comes with the new, programmable Xbox One Elite Controller, which is currently sold out. This month, the console is sold exclusively at GameStop locations and at Microsoft Stores.
Billed as the “ultimate gaming experience” by Microsoft, the Solid State Hard Drive it sports will be great for players who have wanted a console that launches quicker. It may also be the model of choice for anyone into competitive gaming, since it comes with the Xbox One Elite Controller that features interchangeable paddles, hair trigger locks, the ability to adjust the trigger minimum and maximum values, thumbstick sensitivity, and button assignments. The Controller itself sells for $150 dollars.
Microsoft also recently announced the “Lunar White” version of the regular Xbox One controller, sporting new refinements, improved grip texture, and gold triggers and d-pad. Priced at $65, it is only available at GameStop.
