While Chapter 1 concluded with you confronting Kagerou, the first real boss fight in Trek to Yomi is found at the end of the game’s second chapter. The boss is Sadatame, a spear-wielding madman that has led a ready attack on your neighboring village of Kamikawamura and has had your fellow samurai killed. Not only will you want to take him down, but you will want to know how to do so as effectively as possible so that you can get the “I’ll Put This Spear Into…” achievement, which you unlock by defeating Sadatame without taking damage. How To Defeat Chapter 2 Boss Sadatame In Trek To Yomi
Up until this point, you have dealt with enemies that issue the same weapon as you: a regular sword. Sadatame shakes this up by using a spear that not only comes with a new set of moves but also increased attack range. His attacks consist of normal thrusts that can be parried, giving you the chance to do some damage with a combo. He also has a leaping overhead attack that you will need to dodge as blocking it will stagger you and leave you open for more damage. Also, it’s good to know that you can use any Bo-Shurikens that you brought into the battle to get some free damage from a distance.
When you get Sadatame down to half health, the boss will retreat into the background and you will have a group of four regular enemies attack you from either side. Utilizing the rotation attack that you unlock earlier in this chapter can make quick work of these enemies.
Once they are all dead, Sadatame will return to the fight. Luckily, he doesn’t have any new moves here so simply continue what you were doing in his first phase and you will be able to defeat him, ending the chapter.
