Fans of the DC universe have been gearing up for a new game set in the DC universe. Gotham Knight is its own intellectual property with an emphasis on the lesser-known characters Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood.
The game is being developed by WB Montreal, the team behind Arkham Origins, and not by Rocksteady, who did the mainline Arkham games. Instead, Rocksteady is working on a new Suicide Squad game.
A walkthrough video released by WB Montreal displayed action gameplay from the two protagonists Nightwing and Redhood as well as announced the availability of pre-orders for the action RPG.
Gotham Knights were previously set to release on PS4 and Xbox One, that was until a Taiwanese listing excluded them. As of today, Gotham Knights has been confirmed to release only on next-gen consoles and not on any previous generation consoles. A natural progression if you ask me, as sales decline for PS4 so does the corresponding software or next-gen ports.
Pre-orders are available now and come in three editions: Standard, Deluxe, and a Collectors Edition.
The Deluxe Edition contains a DLC called The Visionary Pack, which includes exclusive gear, cosmetics, and a character skin inspired by the Batman Beyond animated series that are dubbed “Beyond Suitstyle.”
The Collectors edition contains everything that the Deluxe Edition has, as well as an augmented reality collectible pin, a 16-page media book, Gotham Knights’ Gotham City map, and a four-character statue diorama.
Gotham Knights releases October 25 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
