In the second of a three-part reveal plan for Boss Key’s upcoming first game, codenamed Project Bluestreak, the relatively new studio has re-released the pre-alpha footage shown at PAX East 2015, this time with a small addition.
Titled “PAX East Revisited…,” the video is almost identical to the pre-alpha footage shown at PAX East this year. However, around the 0:28 second mark, we can see the addition of some floating rocks that appear to be moving upward into the sky. This could be in relation to what Boss Key is currently referring to as “The Shattering,” which is not the name of the game, but perhaps the name of an event that occurs in the fiction of the free-to-play arena-based shooter.
The final reveal is expected to go live tomorrow, Aug. 26 at 12 p.m. ET. Many fans are speculating that this will be the first official trailer for the game and are hoping that some form of the game will be playable at PAX Prime this weekend. Of course, that is all speculation.
Yesterday, Boss Key shared the first of three reveals, a 30-second video titled “After The Shattering…” In it, we see a city that has been destroyed with the sounds of sirens and thunder in the background.
The studio’s first game is described as a free-to-play arena-based shooter for PC in the vein of Unreal Tournament, a franchise Boss Key CEO Cliff Bleszinski worked on during his tenure at Epic Games.
