Cities: Skylines Is Getting A VR Version On The Meta Quest 2

April 1, 2022 by Dani Cook

Watch the new trailer below.

Game developers, Fast Travel Games are releasing a VR version of Cities: Skylines called Cities: VR for the Meta Quest 2. Similar to Skylines, the VR city-building and management simulator will allow players to be the mayor of their own cities. Gamers will be able to “Design neighborhoods, construct buildings, direct the flow of traffic,” all while also handling the “economics, emergency services,” and happiness of their citizens. Along with the game’s announcement, developers also released a gameplay walkthrough trailer of the upcoming VR title. Check it out below.

Developed by Colossal Order, Cities: Skylines was first released in 2015 on PC and was later ported to consoles. Fast Travel Games has now adapted the popular city-building simulation game for VR. According to developers, Cities: VR will have players “Control every aspect of city planning, from construction to utility planning, and provide healthcare, education, and more to your population.” This will all take place within “an immersive and scenic simulator. ” The game “allows for an unparalleled level of presence, immersion, and hands-on gameplay. See your skyline rise from an expansive bird’s eye view, or watch your city come alive from the streets.”

The company behind Cities: VR promises that the upcoming game is “both a great entry-point to the franchise and a compelling new experience for Cities: Skylines veterans. Precise and tactile feedback and a palette of tools at your fingertips makes for an easy-to-use control system.” The Cities: VR game page on the Occulus website states that for all that the new title offers, it will only take up 3GB of space on players’ Meta Quest 2 consoles. So definitely don’t worry about needing to delete any of your favorite VR games for this one.

New and old fans of the Cities franchise can find Cities: VR on the Meta Quest 2 this coming April 28. It looks like it will be a great addition to any VR game library.
