WRC 10 Storms onto the Nintendo Switch today

March 29, 2022 by A.K Rahming

Nacon and the KT Racing Studio have finally released the latest release in the WRC series on the Nintendo Switch—WRC 10.

The arrival of this title marks the fifth game in the series to come to the Switch. Nacon and KT Racing have been supporting the Switch since its launch year back in 2017, bringing over their many sim-heavy franchises like WRC, V-Rally and TT Isle of Man.

With the release of the new WRC 10, it comes armed with a new Anniversary edition that features “new content and sensations.” As this marks the 50th anniversary of the official World Rally Championship, this new mode in WRC 10 sports the “most intense moments from 1973 to today” allowing players to experience real-life races now in virtual form, across 19 events in all.

These new historical rallies will take place across six spots on the globe, including locales such as the Greek Acropolis, San Remo, Germany and in Argentina.

WRC 10 also features four all-new rallies, taking players to courses in Estonia, Croatia, Belgium and Spain.

For the first time in a WRC title, players will now be able to let their creativity loose and create their own liveries for their custom team in Career Mode.

As far as upgrades go, WRC 10 has been outfitted with “revamped” sound design, and also an improved physics engine to allow for more immersion and more-realistic handling.

No specific mention of technical upgrades have been mentioned, however. But the screenshots and trailer do seem to indicate that the game looks more-or-less similar to past releases; not the greatest-looking racing games on Switch at all, but still passable enough to allow for a decent experience.

WRC 10 for the Nintendo Switch is available now in two editions: a standard version for $49.99 (USD) and a Deluxe Edition for $59.99 (USD) that includes an additional car (the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V), one additional historic event, a bonus super special stage event, and also the Career Starter Pack. These bonuses can also be purchased as individual DLC.
