Eiji Aonuma, the producer of the Legend of Zelda series, announces that the launch of Breath Of The Wild 2 is postponed to Spring 2023.
Nintendo was previously aiming for a 2022 release for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The company is pushing this release date to Spring 2023 to extend its development time.
This anticipated sequel to Breath of the Wild will take place not only on the ground but also in the air. Nintendo didn’t reveal much about the gameplay yet. We only saw a glimpse of Link above the clouds in the first trailers of the game.
Nintendo postpones the release date of Breath of the Wild 2 to further improve the world of the game, both on the ground and in the air. The company also promises a wider variety of features, including new encounters and gameplay elements.
“In order to make this game’s experience something special, the entire development team is continuing to work diligently on this game,” says Aonuma. “So please wait a little longer.”
Everything we know so far about Breath of the Wild 2
Breath of the Wild 2 was first revealed in 2019. This first look trailer showed that Malice, the black and red substance covering some parts of the ground, is still infecting Hyrule. During E3 2021, Nintendo released a new trailer for the game, showing several islands floating above Hyrule. Aonuma confirmed that players will be able to explore both the lands and the air in Breath of the Wild 2.
Nintendo didn’t yet reveal the full name of the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In an interview with IGN, Nintendo Treehouse’s Bill Trenen said that Breath of the Wild 2 is not the real name of this game. It has its own title, but revealing it would give hints about what is going to happen in the game. As Nintendo is postponing this sequel, we will have to wait a little longer to find out about the events of Breath of the Wild 2.
