As the 2.5 era comes to a close, MiHoYo–rebranded in the west as HoYoVerse–is gearing up to drop more information regarding update 2.6 of Genshin Impact. Many players are excited to meet the newest character being added to the ever-evolving lineup Ayato Kamisato, Ayaka’s older brother and a brand-new Hydro sword user. Players should gear up for plenty of new information during the next live stream, which will air this Friday, March 18.
As is common for the Chinese developer, the full details of the 2.6 update are being kept tightly under wraps. Leaks can never be fully prevented, however, and with such a massive and passionate community of fans, certain hints have already begun spreading around social media. Anemo-based support character Venti might be getting a banner rerun at some point during update 2.6. Yoimiya, Kazuha, Klee, and Ayaka may be popping up again too, so those who missed these characters the last time they appeared might want to start saving those Wishes up now.
Update 2.6 is also expected to unveil The Chasm, a brand new region. A map of this area has already leaked online, and it seems to have six new teleport points and a new Statue of The Seven. MiHoYo has been consistently adding new explorable terrain with each update, and another major nation by the name of Sumeru has already been hinted to be coming in a future update. The Chasm’s story will apparently serve as an introduction to Sumeru.
According to Genshin Impact leaker @projectcelestia on Twitter, the Irodori Festival will be the main event of the 2.6 update.
Currently, Genshin Impact players are enjoying the Drink A-Dreaming event, which sees the main character behind the bar mixing up tasty beverages to earn some hefty rewards.
Genshin Impact is available to play on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices. Across all platforms, Genshin Impact is estimated to have grossed $3.7 billion in its first year, the highest ever first-year launch revenue for a video game. Kokomi and Raiden are currently seeing Banner reruns.
