A recent issue of the Japanese Nintendo magazine, Nintendo Dream, has potentially teased new info on the soon-to-be-released Kirby and the Forgotten Land, as well as an unannounced Kirby game.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land was first announced as part of a Nintendo Direct in September 2021. Nintendo’s official description for the game is, “Take control of the powerful pink puffball, Kirby, and move around freely in 3D stages as you discover a mysterious world with abandoned structures from a past civilization—like a shopping mall?! Copy enemies’ abilities like Sword and Ice and use them to attack and explore your surroundings! What journey awaits Kirby? Take a deep breath and get ready for an unforgettable adventure!” The upcoming game sees the franchise transition into a 3D-style style, similar to Super Mario Odyssey.
A new trailer for Kirby and the Forgotten Land was released earlier this month, along with the announcement that Nintendo would soon be celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The company didn’t reveal any details on what the celebration would include, but the tweet above shows that Nintendo plans to host a variety of activities for the event, which might include the announcement of a new Kirby title.
Twitter account @Dededaio translated the Japanese in the magazine as, “New issue will release it on Monday, February 21. In addition to detailed news about Kirby and The Forgotten Land, we’ve also included a new game that we didn’t expect! I have a feeling that a new title will be announced.” The blurb describes what will be included in next month’s issue, revealing that a new Kirby game will be announced, as well as more information on Kirby and The Forgotten Land.
While fans are highly anticipating Kirby and The Forgotten Land, more Kirby is always welcome. Hopefully, more info is revealed next month. Until then, preorders are now available for Kirby and The Forgotten Land which will launch March 25, 2022, on the Nintendo Switch.
