Batman: Arkham Knight Receiving Novelization Treatment From Marv Wolfman

February 3, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Marv is an illustrious comics writer in his own right, and has a history with the Caped Crusader, having created Tim Drake.

Marv Wolfman, pictured below, has revealed that he is working on a novelization for Batman: Arkham Knight, marking this as the 2nd major transmedia project for the game.

Marv revealed the news on his Facebook, but has since deleted the post. Oddly enough, Marv stated that the game and the book would be releasing at the same time in July. GameSpot verified with Warner Bros Interactive that the game is still slated to release this coming June 2, on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Marv may have gotten the date wrong, but longtime comics fans know that he is not going to mess this novelization up. Marv is perhaps the most prolific mainstream comics writer in the US, second only to Stan Lee. He helped create many of the major comic book characters that have since been popularized in movies and TV shows, including those from Guardians of the Galaxy, the Teen Titans, etc. Marv himself created Blade the Vampire Hunter, as well as Bullseye, Daredevil’s main villain. Marv has also written for animation, TV, and movies.

Marv has a prior history with Batman, with a brief (for its time) run on Batman Year Three. He created no less than Tim Drake, the third Robin. Of course, Tim appeared in Batman: Arkham City, but he also made appearances in the Lego Batman games, DCUO, Infinite Crisis, and even some older mid-2000s Batman games.

Are you looking forward to Marv Wolfman’s novelization? Do you wish he was directly involved with production of Batman: Arkham Knight? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
