It's been hard times for Mega Man fans, whom Capcom seems to have forgotten. At least we can take some minor solace in the fact that, as we learned earlier today, Capcom doesn't seem to care about any of its games unless they make the company fat stacks. Then there are companies like Archie Comics and even other game studios like Nintendo that keep the light burning for the Blue Bomber. And yes, figurine makers are there to extend a loving hand as well.
On April Fools' Day this year, Capcom's Mega Man-themed blog Rockman Unity played a little joke by posting concept art for a badass new X figure. The sleek interpretation of the SNES star was designed by Mizuno Keisuke, character illustrator on PSP's Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X. Even though it was a joke, fans liked the design so much that now it's going to be an actual model. The Mega Man fan site Rockman Corner broke the news that the figure is being produced by a new outfit called TruForce Collectibles and will be distributed by hobby house Bluefin some time in March / April 2015.
It'll be a beefy figure, too — 20 points of articulation, diecast armor, LED light in the buster, and more! That sounds like a big undertaking, which is why TruForce is planning to launch a Kickstarter next month to get this project off the ground. But if the ultimate quality is even a shred of what's presented in those prototype photos above, TruForce will deserve our donations.
