Mega Man and Animal Crossing Villager are Playable in New Smash Bros.

June 11, 2013 by David Nguyen

Excited? I am!

Mega Man was revealed as a playable guest character in Nintendo's next Super Smash Bros. game. The teaser showed off Mega Man using several powers taken from defeated bosses, and the greatest theme song of the NES era. Mega Man is very much a welcome addition to the series.

Another wonderful surprise was the inclusion of the Animal Crossing human villager. I was hoping for it, but I didn't figure that they'd reveal him so early! He attacks with various Animal Crossing tools (like the bug net), but no word yet on if Tom Nook will be appearing in any attacks.

A few stages were shown off, including what appeared to be the moving train from Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Samus was shown shooting a large beam, closely resembling her Smash Ball move from Brawl, so the Smash Balls may be making a return.

2014 is all we know about the release date so far. If this is the direction that their character roster is taking, I'm extremely excited. Check out the trailer here!
