Tekken 7 is out for location tests in Japan, and some details have already emerged.
Since the onset, the Tekken games have been about pushing available technology to deliver satisfying visuals, and this is no different. We don’t know yet how far into development the game is, but it is at least looking as good as Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
Harada himself revealed on Twitter that they are only 60 % done when it comes to graphics. If you remember that all Tekken games, even the older ones, already push for 60FPS for gameplay reasons, this implies Tekken team intends to push the latest game using Unreal’s capabilities. They may go beyond native 1080p, all the way to 4K, at least for arcades.
But Graphic power performance is only 60% now. RT@Cord87 Tekken 7 looks amazing, way to go! Question, where is Jin? Is he under one of the ?

Available to play are Kazuha, Heihachi, Lars, Asuka, Lili, Alisa, Paul, Law, Xiaoyu, King, Dragunov, Bryan, Leo, Feng, Steve, Hwoarang, as well as the two new characters, Claudio, and Katarina/Catalina.
The demo also introduces new mechanics reminiscent of other fighting game franchises:
- When your life goes down to a certain level, you automatically enter Rage State, increasing your attack power and allowing you to use new Rage Arts special moves. These Rage Arts are character specific.
- Power Crush attacks allow you to continue your attacks even while your opponent attacks you. You will still receive damage from your opponent attack, but you can repeat your Power Crush attack as many times as you want, so long as the opponent’s counterattack is high or mid.
- In terms of okizeme, pressing back while down causes you to do a back rise. The original move from that input, the spring kick, is now activated by pressing the left and right kick buttons together.
Team Tekken has also added some fun customization options. This includes a bancho fan for Xiaoyu, overly tall hair for Paul, a bear hat for Heihachi, and all manner of shades and wings.
