Destiny: Top 5 Improvements Suggested by Fans

October 1, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

Progress is a wonderful thing.

Destiny, which came out last month, has been the subject of an usual amount of controversy. Some players praise the title for trying to change up the first-person shooter formula, while others bash it for being too repetitive and grindy. In the interest of progress for both sides, fans have been busy trying to figure out how Destiny can be improved post-launch. Some very interesting ideas and theories have been coming out of the woodwork, so we have compiled a list of our favorites.

These are displayed in no particular order.

1. Let players skip cutscenes for missions that they have already completed.

This suggestion comes from reddit user Twa3nk. While this idea might create some conflict between users who have not completed the mission before and those who have, other games like Dark Souls have seemed to utilize this function to positive feedback.

2. Introduce a voting system for maps in the Crucible.

Coming from user samlam89, this suggestion really should be a given. I can't tell you how many times I've been stuck playing that awful, vehicle-ridden (pun intended), piece of garbage map on Mars (Bastion).

3. Have Xur sell elemental damage weapon modifiers that can be applied to legendary or exotic weapons.

User MikeM4887 thinks that this would be a good addition to the game, and while the response has generally been positive to his idea, it's a double-edged sword. This would give players reason to level the same weapon, but there would be less incentive to search for new ones.

4. Make Vanguard and Crucible reputations viewable from your Inventory page.

TreePeop1e came out of the gates with this simple suggestion to make your main reputation time sinks (Vanguard and Crucible) viewable from your inventory. This seems like a no-brainer, as it stinks when you have got to take a trip to orbit only to find out that you have still got a long way to go until your next reputation level.

5. Make the Weekly Heroic and Nightfall strikes utilize a match making tool.

DaDertz suggests what really seems like another oversight on the developer's part in the form of match making for the weekly Heroic and Nightfall strikes. While this might have been an awkward attempt at trying to get players to group together, it really only makes the experience seem more clunky in the end game.
