A fan has suggested several improvements to Destiny’s Quality of Life UI. In plainer terms, these would make it easier to get around the menus to do the things that you need to do, if Bungie did implement them.
The first improvement comes when building loadouts. When you equip items to a specific loadout, those items are associated with that loadout. When you switch to an entirely different loadout, all your gear gets switched too.
There are new damage type icons, indicating what type of damage each weapon has, when you select its respective thumbnail. This way, you do not have to hover over the thumbnail to get this information, and you can find and select the weapons you need more easily.
There is a new, contextual quick weapon select option when you are out in the field. This requires using either the square button on your DualShock, or the X button on your Xbox controller. Press and hold the button when it isn’t used in any other menu, and it will bring up a small weapon select interface, with thumbnails and weapon names. Press left and right on the d-pad to cycle between them.
Finally, there is now an option to Return to the Tower from the pause screen, alongside Abandon Objective and Summon Vehicle options. If you pick Return to the Tower from here, you can go straight to the tower without going through the loading screen for the director.
How do you like these improvements so far? What other UI fixes and tweaks would you like to see? Let us know in the comments below.
