The Gauntlet series began in 1985 with one of the first multi-player dungeon crawl arcade games. Fast-forward your VCR to 2014, and the PC remake releases in less than two weeks. The same 4 player hack-n-slash theme remains with the return of the same classic characters: Warrior, Wizard, Valkyrie, and Elf.
The PC game starts off with a tolerable $19.99 price tag, but pre-ordering this week at Green Man Gaming will get you a better price after a 25% off coupon code. If you're planning on getting the game with a group of friends, you can collectively save even more on a 4-pack, which qualifies for the same 25% off coupon.
- Gauntlet — $15 (normally $20)
- Gauntlet 4-Pack — $45 (normally $60)
- Use Coupon: 9I47I9-ZOM38L-ZGV9KW
To take advantage of the discount, you'll have to act soon. GMG's coupon code expires later this Friday, September 12th at 8am Pacific.
Buying the 4-pack nets the best savings if you're playing with a group of friends. Right off the bat, the 4-pack MSRP is already lowered to $60 vs the $80 for 4 copies individually. Even after coupon, buying each copy separately would cost $15 a piece. The 4-pack essentially is one copy free; split 4 ways, it's only $11.25 a person.
Pre-ordering also gets you two bonuses:
- Mordok’s Screaming Hammer (weapon for the Warrior)
- Digital Comic – Gauntlet: Darkness Calls
