Azure Striker Gunvolt Releases August 20 in Japan, Shortly Afterwards in America

July 23, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Also, there will only be Japanese voice acting in the 3DS action platformer.

Inti Creates may still be hard at work on Mighty No. 9, but its other Mega Man spiritual successor is just around the corner. Azure Striker Gunvolt will launch on the Japanese 3DS eShop on August 20, while the American release date is still under consideration. Inti Creates' CEO Takuya Aizu is hoping for release parity or at the very least a tiny window between regional releases:

However, we are preparing to be able to release a NA version without delay from the JP version. Please wait for the announcement.

The reason for this mystery is because Inti Creates' has never self-published in the US before:

We didn't have taxpayer identification number of US until yesterday. We can't predict what kind of problem is going to happen in the future.

Also, you might have heard that the game would have English voice acting, but that has been dropped in favor of retaining the Japanese cast.

Sit tight for any additional Azure Striker Gunvolt news, and check out some art of the various characters below.
